Aliyah O'Brien. Actor. Artist.

Artist, adventurer and enthusiast of life Aliyah O’Brien is in demand more than ever as an actress, flying between Toronto, Vancouver, Los Angeles and Russia for work. Not prepared to slow down anytime soon, this Cana-dian born actress can be seen on the big screen in the upcoming Para-mount Monster Trucks movie, 'Formula M' where Aliyah worked opposite actors Rob Lowe (Parks and Recreation, Californication, West Wing), and Thomas Lennon (Night at the Museum, Transformers). On the small screen you can catch her in leading roles in Hallmark’s ‘An Ice Sculpture Christmas’ and ‘Garage Sale Mysteries: Guilty Until Proven Innocent’, Life-time’s ‘Forced Exposure’, as well as recurring roles on A&E’s Bates Motel starring Academy Award nominee Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air, Departed) and Nestor Carbonell (The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises) and the re-cently shot in Russia TV series titled ‘Insomnia’.

One thing Aliyah truly loves about her job is the variety of roles she gets to play and dig into. Last year Aliyah could be seen as real estate agent/bad ass recurring in the Syfy series ‘Ascension’ and right after that she played a loving mother in ShowCase and Syfy science fiction show ‘Continuum’ starring Rachel Nichols and Victor Webster. She sported fish nets and attitude for an edgy role in a new Indie TV series titled ‘School of Fish’ and full sleeve tattoos for her Guest Star role in the season finale of ‘Motive’ which airs on CTV in Canada and ABC in the US. Quite possibly her favorite role to date has been her recurring guest star role on ABC’s Rookie Blue playing the nerdy, fun, and grounded forensic pathologist, Hol-ly Stewart.

In addition to the above, Aliyah also has recently had a blast working on several big features including the comedy feature ‘Crash Pad’, starring Domnhall Gleeson (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Harry Potter) and Thomas Hayden Church (Sideways, Spider Man 3), Warner Bros. feature ‘If I Stay’ starring Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick Ass, Hugo, Dark Shadows), and the Disney feature film ‘Tomorrowland’, starring George Clooney.

In between, Aliyah was delighted to play in various Indie projects including ‘Preggoland’, starring Sonia Bennet (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Where the Truth Lies), James Caan (Godfather, Misery) and Danny Trejo (From Dusk Till Dawn, Sons of Anarchy), ‘The Starlight Heist’, a fun 1940’s mob movie, and ‘Citizen Jane’, a poignant short film highlighting the mistreat-ment of homosexuals in the military. Aliyah was particularly proud to be a part of ‘Citizen Jane’ as she is an advocate for human rights and building compassion in the world.

In 2012, Aliyah starred in 'Maximum Conviction' opposite Steven Seagal and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Aliyah is quite possibly the only woman to ever lay a smack-down on Stone Cold Steve Austin. This self proclaimed adrenaline junkie loves doing her own stunts whenever possible and has a martial arts and dance background.

Some of Aliyah’s other credits in film and television include her lead role on CBC’s 'Men with Brooms', ‘Sanctuary', ‘ Smallville', ‘Supernatural', 'A Killer Among Us', 'Bringing Ashley Home', ‘Psych', ‘Eureka', 'Ex’s and Oh’s', among many others.

Beyond the world of entertainment, Aliyah is passionate about personal de-velopment and hopes to one day inspire others to move through the world with heightened love, joy, playfulness and compassion… Maybe that’s why she’s listed Killer Lawn Mower and Deadly Air Guitar as two of her special skills on her acting resume.
